Samenvatting: | The Final Epidemic was a project undertaken in cooperation with the Physicians for Social Responsibility and the Council for a Livable World Education Fund.
Physicians for Social Responsibility began in the early 1960s, focusing on the dual issues of atmospheric nuclear fallout and the fallacy of civilian defence against nuclear attack. We intend to continue our vigorous efforts to alert the public, the medical profession and our elected representatives about the health consequences of nuclear war.
Thousands of generations of humans have worked hard to continue our species and pass along an unspoiled world. We owe it to our ancestors to continue that work. Our children deserve to inherit an intact physical and genetic environment. And Earthlings, including ourselves, deserve better than to be incinerated in a nuclear war. May our children's children be able to thank us for choosing the path which leads toward life.  |
